US Spec taillights from 1968-1972

Since I live in Germany, I was a little bit confused about the diffent sorts of taillights between 1968 and 1972 in the U.S.
It took me a while to find out, but now everything is clear! YAY!

The early ones... ca.1968-1970
These taillights got the same size as their european counterpart. Easy to recognize at the number engraved on the glass: SAE STIAR P169. Main differences apart from red indicator lense is the missing reflector, instead there is a side reflector. Therefore there is a left and a right one, the european spec is interchangeable from left to right.

From left to right: U.S. spec 1970-172, U.S.Spec 1968-1970, European 1967-1972 with red indicator lense (Normally amber)

Same from the inside

U.S.Spec 1968-1970 and remote reflector for mounting on the bumper

Since the lack of a reflector in the taillight, there was a remote reflector (SAE A69) which was located on the bumper. I have no idea wether on top or beneath... Probably for looks beneath and for safety on top.

The later ones... ca. 1970-1972

U.S.Spec 1970-1972 with side reflector

They are bigger, far bigger! And they need a different base, gasket, chrome ring, glass... everything. There is the number engraved on the glass: SAE STIAP1AR 70. They have got an internal rear reflector and no internal side reflector. Instead, there was a trapezoid shaped reflector on the base unit.
